Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Acute care nursing - Patient assessment - Care plan development - Care plan implementation - Care plan evaluation Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are paramount. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice is essential. Education supported by a Practice Governance framework is a priority. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care is key. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focusing on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is vital. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is part of the RN's role. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents the response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.
