Description

American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Clinic RN for an outpatient setting requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior oncology and telephone triage experience.

Details

• Outpatient Oncology Clinic setting within a teaching hospital medical center
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• AHA BLS certification required
• 3 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience in Med Onc or Surg Onc
• Minimum 1 year of Outpatient/Ambulatory experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Experience with telephone triage and symptom assessment required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• ACLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), OCN, and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy monitoring and oral administration, IV therapy/infusions, and port and PICC line care
• Deliver psychosocial care, patient/family education, and support around advanced directives
• Coordinate care and manage symptoms such as nausea/vomiting, constipation/diarrhea, and dysphagia for oncology patients
• Care for patients with various cancer types including lung, ovarian/uterine, melanoma, and ear/nose/throat cancers
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values as part of clinical monitoring
• BMT and inpatient oncology experience preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed in employment history for rehire eligibility review
