Bartender

Alta is led by Chef-Owner Keith Corbin, serving California cuisine shaped by the American South and the influences of Los Angeles through migration, memory, and fire. Our bar program is an extension of that same vision: thoughtful, seasonal, precise, warm, and rooted in hospitality.

This role is for a bartender with real craft cocktail experience who can execute a curated bar program with consistency, speed, cleanliness, and care.

We are looking for a bartender who can:

• Build balanced craft cocktails to exact house specifications
• Work confidently with fresh juices, syrups, infusions, bitters, tinctures, and seasonal ingredients
• Understand classic cocktail structure and apply it to modern drinks
• Execute consistently during busy service without sacrificing quality
• Provide warm, polished hospitality from behind the bar
• Sell cocktails, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages with confidence
• Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked bar station
• Work closely with the AGM, Bar Manager, FOH team, and kitchen

• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
• Follow all Alta cocktail specs, measurements, garnish standards, and presentation standards
• Batch, prep, label, date, and store bar ingredients properly
• Maintain speed, accuracy, and composure during high-volume service
• Guide guests through the beverage menu with confidence and warmth
• Support wine and bottle sales when appropriate
• Maintain bar cleanliness before, during, and after service
• Follow all cash handling and POS procedures
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible service standards
• Restock the bar throughout service and complete closing side work
• Communicate product needs, low stock, guest feedback, and service issues to management
• Uphold Alta’s hospitality standards and contribute to a professional team culture

• Prior craft cocktail bar experience required
• Experience in a chef-driven, fine dining, or elevated restaurant environment strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, and seasonal ingredients
• Ability to follow exact recipes and maintain consistency
• Strong guest communication and hospitality skills
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Valid California Responsible Beverage Service certification required
• Food Handler certification required, if applicable

This role requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Bend, reach, twist, and move quickly in a tight bar space
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
• Safely handle glassware, bar tools, ice, knives, and cleaning chemicals

The ideal bartender for Alta is disciplined, warm, fast, clean, and serious about the craft. They understand that a great bar is not only about making drinks — it is about rhythm, consistency, hospitality, and trust.

They should be able to make a beautiful cocktail, explain it naturally, keep their station tight, support the floor, and make guests feel cared for from the first drink to the last.
