What You'll Do As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you'll work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help residents restore function, increase independence, and improve their overall quality of life. Responsibilities include: Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments based on individualized care plans. Assist residents in improving activities of daily living, mobility, strength, coordination, and functional independence. Monitor resident progress and communicate updates to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team. Accurately document treatments, progress, and functional outcomes. Educate residents and families on adaptive techniques, therapeutic exercises, safety strategies, and home programs. Collaborate with the rehabilitation and nursing teams to provide high-quality, resident-centered care. Build positive relationships with residents while encouraging participation and progress toward individualized goals. Qualifications Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or eligibility for licensure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for rehabilitation and resident-centered care. Positive, collaborative, and compassionate approach to patient care. Strong organizational and documentation skills.
