RN - ICU

Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse will provide critical care for patients in the ICU. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. The position requires maintaining knowledge of and compliance with patient care standards. The nurse will manage complex patient conditions and perform specialized procedures. Key responsibilities include arterial line management and central line care. The nurse will be responsible for interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Experience with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients is essential. The nurse will administer blood products and assist with chest tube insertion and removal. Effective communication skills are vital for coordinating with physicians and healthcare teams. The position includes weekend rotation and floating to other units as needed. The Registered Nurse will need to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Knowledge of neuro intensive care and procedural sedation administration is required. The nurse will participate in patient and family education regarding care plans. Adherence to infection prevention protocols is a must. Documentation and charting in the electronic medical record system is required. The role supports patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
