EMPLOYER: Pinx Catering REPORTS TO: Executive Chef PART TIME – San Leandro, CA, US SALARY RANGE: $18.00 To $22.00 Hourly Summary The Porter / Kitchen Support role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper storage throughout the kitchen and back‑of‑house areas. This position supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring that all equipment, supplies, and inventory are handled safely, stored correctly, and readily available for the culinary team. The role is essential to maintaining efficiency, sanitation, and operational standards. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, prep, storage, and back‑of‑house areas Receive, store, rotate, and organize inventory according to established procedures Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of all food and non‑food items Lift, move, and store supplies and equipment safely and efficiently Assist chefs and kitchen staff with operational support as needed Remove trash, break down cardboard, and maintain orderly storage areas Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards Identify and report maintenance, safety, or inventory issues to kitchen management Work Private Events as assigned by the Leadership team Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends And other duties as assigned Qualifications Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or catering environment preferred Understanding of kitchen organization, inventory rotation, and storage practices Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Dependable, punctual, and able to follow direction consistently Ability to work weekends on a regular basis Professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift and carry heavy items Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, reach, and work in confined storage areas The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Required protective clothing: non‑slip shoes Frequent exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, and humid environments Competencies Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
