Dental Assistant

Effective managing the day-to-day operations in the Dental Department ensuring that all patients have active Dental Health Coverage before the Dental visit. Ensuring that schedules, dental forms, and approval from managed care or insurance companies are in order before the Dental visit. The unit clerk should act as "support help" in such a manner as to allow the Dental providers to spend as much of their time as possible treating patients.

Essential Duties:

• Greet, welcome, and care for all patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner. Inform patient's arrival, and create charts. Review mandatory paperwork for patient visits on a daily basis.
• Take, and develop radiographs and maintenance of same.
• Clean up and maintenance of dental equipment daily.
• Sterilization of instruments-Biological Monitoring System.
• Seats and prepares patients for examination of dental treatment. Set up the room for procedures.
• Assists the Dental Provider in mixing amalgam or other filling materials.
• Answering the telephone and appropriately booked and followed up as needed for coordination of dental treatment.
• Ordering supplies and maintaining a proper inventory.
• Always be aware of confidentiality.
• Report all issues of importance to the Dental Director. Help explain Dental Department Policy to patients.
• Update patient information (phone number) to provide courtesy calls and appointment reminders to patients.
• Keep daily sheets with names and status of the day's patient appointments, cancellations, and no-shows.
• Be aware of all Dental Policies to ensure compliance.
• Verification of insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Other duties as assigned by the Dental Director.

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma is preferred.
• Registered, Licensed, or Certified Dental Assistant.
• We train in-house.
• HIPPA, Infection Control, CPR or BLS.
• Ability to relate well to staff members. xywuqvp
• Knowledge of Word and Excel.
