ID: 239100 Job Type: Full-time What to Expect: Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Project Manager to lead large capital projects from concept to execution. The role requires a highly organized individual that can synthesize complex, ambiguous requirements into scope/inputs for manufacturing equipment design, and factory requirements by implementing front-end engineering design methodologies. As an Engineering Project Manager, you will join a cross-functional project engineering team responsible for the technical deliverables, schedule, budget, work packages, interface management, project risk mitigation, equipment design and contractor scopes for all aspects of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning. What You’ll Do: Develop, scale-up and optimize battery manufacturing equipment, focused heavily on Calendaring, Slitting, and Coating equipment at multiple sites. Lead the full design and engineering of Tesla equipment and factory design from concept to production launch. Develop engineering project plans and secure leadership alignment. Interface with internal and external engineering teams, manage 3rd party vendor contracts and budgets. Own Front-End-Engineering process for large capital projects from preliminary/concept design through detailed design and construction, including scope definition, interface management, and cost control. Lead design reviews and manage cross-functional action items through completion. Develop project schedules, budgets, project communications and leadership reporting. What You’ll Bring: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams within Architectural/Engineering firms or design-build firms. Experience leading engineering teams for large brown-field and green-field manufacturing projects with EPC firms or in-house design teams. Full understanding of all engineering disciplines and ability to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resources. Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP, and IFC packages. Experience designing manufacturing processes or equipment in healthcare, laboratory, mission critical, and site infrastructure development project types. Excellent communication skills with ability to understand complex topics/problems and distill the message clearly. Pre-Construction Project Management experience is a plus. Auto-CAD or Revit experience is a plus. Bluebeam 2D Drawings is a plus.
