Clinician (Therapist) - Independent Contractor (Foster Care)

Description As a Clinician, you will provide clinically appropriate individual, family, and group therapy services to Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) individuals. Therapy services are delivered regularly as indicated in the treatment plan, involving the Treatment Foster Parents and the TFC Individual’s own family as appropriate to achieve the goals of the treatment plan. You will actively participate in the individual’s treatment team, including assessment, treatment planning, progress reviews, and discharge planning. Clinicians demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate treatment and services for the behavioral health needs of TFC individuals. Responsibilities include advocating for TFC individuals’ and Treatment Foster Parent family needs, participating in Child and Family Team meetings, assisting with program development, and contributing to program and department meetings. Qualifications Minimum of a master’s degree with one of the following New Mexico licenses: Licensed master social worker (LMSW), Licensed professional mental health counselor (LPC), Licensed art therapist (LAT), or Licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). Foster care experience is a plus. Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards). Valid New Mexico Driver’s License and pass DMV 36‑month history check. Pre‑employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable). Drug test within 24 hours of offer with negative results. Ability to attend full‑time New Hire Orientation Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5 pm (paid). Compensation and Work Settings Pay Range: $50/hr – $75/hr, depending on license level (Associate or Independent) and experience. Service settings may include but are not limited to: the foster home, office, school, or other community locations. Hours: Estimated 1–3 hours per TFC Individual per week. Census projections: 1–2 TFC Individuals 6 months post‑hire, gradually increasing to a maximum of 8 over the next 6 months and then to 16 by the end of the following 12‑month period.
