About the Role Position: Licensed Electrician Location: Silver Spring, MD and Laurel, MD Employment Type: Full-Time Are you a motivated professional, detail-oriented, and ready for hands-on work that truly matters? As a Licensed Electrician with LB&B Associates, Inc., you'll provide essential expertise maintaining and repairing electrical systems that keep our facilities safe, efficient, and operational. What You'll Do Roll up your sleeves and get ready for a dynamic, rewarding technical role! As a Licensed Electrician, your key responsibilities will include: • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, systems, controls, and equipment across facility areas. • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to ensure proper installation and compliance with codes. • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance for electrical panels, lighting, generators, and safety systems. • Identify electrical hazards, recommend improvements, and take corrective action to ensure safety and code compliance. • Coordinate with facility managers and contractors to plan electrical upgrades, renovations, and new installations. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, material usage, and compliance checks. • Respond promptly to urgent electrical issues or emergencies, providing quick assessment and resolution. • Support sustainability efforts by recommending and implementing energy-efficient solutions and practices. • Order and manage inventory of electrical supplies and tools, ensuring proper usage and secure storage. • Mentor junior staff, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement. • Promote effective communication among team members, clients, and facility stakeholders. • Adhere to all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
What We're Looking For Are you a specialist who brings technical expertise, a spirit of safety, and a drive for excellence? We're seeking candidates with: • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program preferred. • Current State of Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license (required). • Minimum of 6 years' experience as a licensed electrician in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings. • Proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals. • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations. • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Physical stamina and ability to assist with hands-on tasks and work in challenging environments. • Excellent organizational, time management, and documentation skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, fostering collaboration and respect. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective interaction with staff, clients, and management. • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and occasional after-hours or on-call needs. • Experience with inventory management and procurement is a plus.
Physical Demands • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed. • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and reaching throughout the shift. • Manual dexterity and mobility for installation, repairs, and equipment handling. • Exposure to electrical hazards, heights, confined spaces, and variable weather conditions-with appropriate PPE provided.
