Referral & Authorization Coordinator (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Referral & Authorization Coordinator to manage authorizations and referrals across multiple insurance plans. This role ensures timely care coordination, accurate documentation, and excellent patient communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and track authorization requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Secure approvals from insurance providers via phone, email, or fax
• Coordinate specialty appointments, diagnostics, DME, and other services
• Follow up on outstanding documentation to prevent delays in care
• Communicate authorization status and resolve patient inquiries
• Maintain referral records, verify appointment completion, and obtain clinical documentation
• Use multiple systems to schedule, track, and manage referrals
• Meet deadlines and maintain professional, patient-focused communication

Schedule - Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of healthcare experience (referrals, front/back office, or authorizations)
• Knowledge of insurance plans and eligibility guidelines
• 2+ years of customer service experience
• Fluent in English & Spanish (required)
• Typing speed of 35+ WPM
• High School Diploma or GED

This is a Contract position based out of San Ysidro, CA 92173.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Ysidro,CA 92173.
