Location: Montgomery, AL and its surrounding cities

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: 28.91–44.00/hour, based on qualifications, experience, and location

We're seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to support the 42nd Medical Group at Montgomery, AL, and its surrounding clinics . This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care while enjoying a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends and no holidays .

What You'll Do

Core Duties

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and formulate dental hygiene diagnoses and treatment plans in collaboration with the dentist and patient.
• Examine the oral cavity, including the mouth, throat, and pharynx, and document the condition of teeth and surrounding tissues.
• Identify abnormalities and refer patients to the dentist when additional evaluation or treatment is required.
• Provide adult dental prophylaxis, including patient preparation, disclosing solutions, supra- and subgingival scaling, cleaning, and polishing.
• Perform periodontal scaling and root planing and periodontal maintenance.
• Apply professional topical fluoride treatments and pit and fissure sealants when indicated.
• Provide individual and group oral-health counseling and patient education.
• Support tobacco-cessation counseling and preventive dentistry programs.
• Provide specialized periodontal treatment, including application of local chemotherapeutic agents and long-term supportive dental care.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and appropriately manage pain, anxiety, and medical emergencies.
• Insert and remove temporary fillings, crowns, and bridges.
• Irrigate and pack dry sockets as directed.
• Smooth and polish restorations and clean and polish removable dental appliances.
• Assist with surgical procedures, including suture removal, periodontal pack placement, bleeding control, gingival curettage, and post-procedure patient instructions.
• Assist the periodontist with periodontal patients and related procedures.
• Maintain accurate dental treatment records in accordance with established clinic procedures.
• Confirm patient appointments and ensure dental records are prepared and reviewed before scheduled treatment.
• Participate in routine team huddles with the assigned provider and/or dental section.
• Compile statistical data and written reports related to preventive dentistry programs.
• Conduct or support competency assessments and proficiency validation for assigned oral preventive dentistry tasks.
• Perform duties under the indirect or general supervision of a dentist in accordance with established clinical standards.
• Participate in ongoing peer review and annual performance evaluation processes, including record reviews, direct observation, and clinical knowledge and skills assessments.

What You'll Need — Mandatory Qualifications

Education:

• Associate or bachelor's degree, depending on the applicable dental hygiene program.
• Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA).

Experience:

• Minimum of 12 months of full-time experience within the last 36 months in a dental clinic setting.

Licensure:

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) .

Certification:

• Current certification in radiography .

Life Support Certification:

• Current American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider certification .

Security:

• Ability to successfully pass a government background check/security clearance .

Sign-On Bonus Criteria

To qualify for the $2,000 sign-on bonus:
