Software Engineer - NestJS & Backend Architecture

Salary: $121,083 - 137,864 per year Requirements:

• We require U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status.
• We are looking for a senior backend engineer with at least 2 years of software engineering experience, with strong specialization in NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• We prefer candidates with experience in POS systems, payment processing, PCI-compliant environments, order management, or other high-concurrency transaction platforms.
• We value advanced knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, along with NoSQL technologies like MongoDB and in-memory stores such as Redis.
• We expect hands-on experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or NestJS Microservices.
• We seek familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, containerization with Docker, and modern CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• We require proficiency in automated testing with Jest and secure API practices including OAuth2, JWT, and rate limiting.
• We prefer experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using Git-based workflows.
• A background in clean architecture practices such as dependency injection, object-oriented design, and domain-driven design is important.

• We design, build, and maintain modular, high-throughput backend services using NestJS and TypeScript across our POS platform.
• We develop secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs, WebSockets, and webhooks for hardware terminals, mobile POS apps, online ordering, and payment integrations.
• We architect distributed systems that support fault tolerance, offline-to-online synchronization, and high availability during peak transaction periods.
• We optimize database and cache performance across relational and NoSQL layers to support fast checkout experiences.
• We uphold code quality through clean architecture, testing, and automated validation using Jest and Supertest.
• We partner with DevOps teams to deploy microservices to cloud infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• We collaborate in Agile ceremonies and translate product needs into scalable technical designs and implementation plans.
