Nonprofit Controller

Controller – Atlanta, GA (Perimeter area) Must have experience in the nonprofit industry Salary Range: $120,000 – $130,000 Why This Opportunity Stands Out: Direct partnership with the CFO/CAO and leadership team on strategic financial decisions Lead and develop a team of 4 while shaping the future of the finance function High visibility across a multi-program, mission-driven organization with real community impact Ownership of the full accounting cycle, audit process, and financial reporting Opportunity to streamline processes and drive system improvements (including Sage Intacct) Work in a stable, well-established nonprofit with ~$40M in revenue Influence budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning Exposure to complex multi-fund accounting and restricted fund management Strong benefits package including retirement contributions and generous PTO In-person leadership role in Dunwoody with a collaborative, team-oriented culture Key Responsibilities for the Controller: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, GL) and monthly/year-end close Lead financial reporting, variance analysis, and cash flow management Manage annual audit and serve as primary liaison with external auditors Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit standards (ASC 958), and regulatory filings Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members Drive process improvements and support system enhancements Qualifications for the Controller: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field CPA required 5–10 years of accounting experience, including nonprofit accounting Experience managing staff and leading accounting operations Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Creative Financial Staffing, LLC
