Twin Rivers Paper Company, headquartered in Madawaska, Maine, is an integrated specialty paper manufacturer producing 400,000 tons of paper per year for the packaging, publishing, label, and technical sectors. The Director of IT is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of the company's information technology environment across all corporate and manufacturing facilities. This role partners closely with business leaders, operations, finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and IT teams to ensure systems and data solutions support business goals, improve decision-making, and drive operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a hand-on technology leader who can operate strategically while appreciating the operational complexities of the manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a company-wide IT strategy aligned with business and manufacturing objectives.
• Lead, coach, and develop IT team members including setting objectives, providing coaching and establishing/managing performance.
• Establish technology priorities, roadmaps, budgets and IT standards to support current operations and future growth.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and profitability.
• Lead major technology initiatives from strategy and planning through implementation and stabilization.
• Provide IT leadership for due diligence support for acquisitions, integrations, new facilities and other strategic business initiatives.
• Manage 3rd party consultants, vendors and other contractor performance through close monitoring and supervision.

Business Systems & Applications:

• Oversee core business applications, including ERP, MES, reporting, and departmental systems.
• Partner with functional leaders to identify business requirements, improve processes, and prioritize system enhancements.
• Develop application roadmaps to ensure systems remain scalable, integrated and aligned with business needs.
• Lead evaluation and selection of technology solutions and software partners.

Infrastructure & Network:

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of the company's technology infrastructure across all corporate and manufacturing locations.
• Oversee Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers, servers, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, storage, and related technologies.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of critical IT infrastructure.
• Establish infrastructure standards, technology architecture, and lifecycle management strategies.
• Lead infrastructure planning associated with business growth, new facilities, acquisitions, manufacturing modernization and/or plant expansions.
• Ensure appropriate redundancy, monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery capabilities.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. Oversee cybersecurity controls, including endpoint protection, identity and access management, network security, vulnerability management, email security, and threat monitoring.
• Establish appropriate access controls, authentication standards, and data protection practices.
• Lead the response to significant cybersecurity incidents and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Maintain IT security policies and employee cybersecurity awareness programs.
• Oversee security assessments, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and related initiatives.
• Partner with executive leadership, HR, Legal, and other stakeholders on cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection matters.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience including significant leadership responsibility. Experience in paper manufacturing or packaging.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience leading both IT infrastructure/network operations and business systems/applications.
• Proven experience developing and executing IT strategy and managing IT operations and capital budgets.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
