agency'sFull-timeAccountant Full time Exempt Position Washington County Commission on Aging, Inc. 535 East Franklin Street Hagerstown, MD 21740 Position Overview: Seeking a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to support the CFO in managing financial operations of a small nonprofit, including but not limited to transaction entry, grant tracking, journal entries, payroll processing, contract compliance, and audit preparation. Responsibilities: Record and maintain all financial transactions within the agency financial software. Maintain adequate tracking of spending for all federal, state, and local/other grants to assure timely and accurate spending. Record journal entries into the agency accounting software as required. Manage agency contracts with outside vendors to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements. Assist in updated on industry trends and best practices. Collaborate with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk. Implement and maintain effective internal controls. Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure successful outcomes. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards. Excellent communication skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in financial software and tools. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Full Time – Exempt position; 40+ hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Compensation & Benefits: Salary Range: $68,000 - $70,000 Health, dental, and vision insurance (single & family coverage available). Life insurance and 403B Retirement Plan with up to 5% employer match after one year. Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, personal days, and holidays.
