Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of PACU experience License: Michigan Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: 2 years of PACU experience Description: Continuously monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature. Assess the patient's level of consciousness as they recover from anesthesia. Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function. Intervene quickly if an obstruction or respiratory distress occurs. Administer medications, such as painkillers, anti-nausea drugs, and fluids, to manage post-operative symptoms effectively. Keep the patient comfortable during their recovery. Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications. Check dressings and perform physical assessments. Recognize adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery and initiate appropriate emergency interventions. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members regarding the patient's condition and care plan.
