Job TitleWe Are Looking For Someone ToInstall, test, repair, or replace services, lines, valves, meters, hydrants and backflow devicesOperate forklift, tractor loader, tractor mower, brush chipper, truck with or without trailer use a variety of portable power tools and a variety of hand toolsRaise valve boxes and manholesPerform asphalt or cement maintenance and repairAssist with street striping and paintingPerform drainage pipe and ditch maintenancePerform various semi-skilled and unskilled work in maintenance of sewage collection systemPerform landscaping and grounds maintenance including mowing, weeding, pruning trees and shrubs, and picking up litterPerform light janitorial and maintenance duties in City restrooms and buildingsSet up for meetings, conventions, classes, etc.Perform other duties as assignedQualifications We're Looking ForKnowledge of:Appropriate City and OSHA safety procedures involved in construction and repair workSafety procedures when using cones, or barricades for traffic diversionPublic Health and Safety standardsEquipment operating techniques and proceduresAsphalt or cement installation and repair; pipe sizes, uses, and applicationsHydrant and valve maintenance and repairAbility to:Interact effectively with the public and employeesOperate all required vehicles and equipment, such as forklift tractor/loader, brush chipper tractor/mower, truck with or without trailerUse a variety portable power toolsUse a variety of hand toolsEducation, Experience, and Special Requirements:Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifyingTypical education would include a high school diploma, or equivalentSome previous relevant experiencePossession of the appropriate California driver's license, or ability to acquire one within ten days of appointmentWhat To Expect From The Application And Exam ProcessYou will receive notifications pertaining to this recruitment at the e-mail address and text message number provided on your application.
