Hospitalist – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) Job Title : Hospitalist Physician – Independent Practice Physician (Ownership Model, Not Employed) Job Type : Independent Practice Opportunity About the Role This opportunity is for physicians who want to practice independently while receiving structured operational support from MedCBO for non‑clinical business functions. Physicians own and operate the medical practice entity, govern clinical operations and decision‑making, and maintain full clinical authority. MedCBO provides non‑clinical support services such as revenue cycle management, EHR, payer contracting, and compliance. Physician Responsibilities Provide patient care within the physician’s specialty scope. Develop professional relationships within the medical community. Determine clinical services offered. Manage clinical quality and patient experience. Coordinate payer credentialing in cooperation with MedCBO. Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination. Billing and collections management. Payer contract negotiation. Financial infrastructure and reporting. Operational workflows and staffing systems. Technology platform implementation. Requirements MD or DO with unrestricted license in good standing in intended state of practice. Board Certified or Board Eligible in a specialty appropriate to the clinical services provided. Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable. Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates. No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice. Interest in the independent practice model. Preferred Qualifications Desire for practice ownership. Interest in community‑based care. Leadership or program development experience. Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Relocation and market selection are physician‑directed, subject to licensure and regulatory requirements. Compensation Compensation is derived from the physician-owned practice. Financial outcomes vary based on specialty scope, services offered, payer mix, physician activity, and local market conditions.
