We are committed to welcoming applicants and program participants of all faiths, as well as an inclusive and welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, and program participants./ph3Purpose Of Position:/h3pA Lead Cook at Catholic Charities:/pulliKnowledgeable of CACFP food requirements for adults in all production capacities./liliExecutes food preparation for meals served for shelters run by Catholic Charities./liliWorks with Kitchen Supervisor on menu planning with production input./liliReceives products from food orders twice a week and assists in putting them away./liliAssists in the planning of production and food orders shelter menus./liliAssists in meal prep prior to cooking menu items./liliAssists with food production and presentation of daily menu items for shelters./liliMonitors that only the highest standard of quality is maintained in the production of the daily meals./liliMonitors that all kitchen sanitation and safety regulations are observed at all times./liliWorks with existing cooking staff to determine timing for use of kitchen appliances needed for meal production./liliUnderstands portion size and creates appropriate levels/PARs for each menu item./liliAssists in training of volunteers serving on the line./liliSupports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics./liliReflects Catholic Charities commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect./liliMaintains confidentiality of client and agency information./liliRegular and predictable attendance./liliUses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliInstitutional and restaurant experience as well as a good working knowledge of commercial food preparation and production standards including sanitation safety standards./liliGood working knowledge of all commercial grade kitchen equipment./liliThe ability to be able to function independently and maintain self-sufficiency with minimal supervision./liliExpress excellent interpersonal communication skills, flexibility and willingness to shift priorities as needed./liliKnowledge of the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population./liliAbility to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base./li/ulh3Education and/or Experience/h3pHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience./ph3Certificates, Licenses, Registrations/h3ulliObtain Serv Safe certificate within 30 days of hire/liliObtain CACFP Food Certificate within 30 days of hire/li/ulh3Compensation Benefits:/h3pstrongSalary: /strong $24.00 per hour.
