Associate, Healthcare Practice (Healthcare Services)

Overview SpencerStuart seeks an experienced Associate for its Healthcare Services Practice, focused on C‑level executive searches within the healthcare sector. The Associate will partner with consultants on end‑to‑end search execution—including research, candidate development, and assessment—and build diverse, high‑quality candidate slates addressing complex client needs. Key Responsibilities Participate in client kick‑off meetings, help develop search strategy and target list of companies. Gather information on relevant industries and target companies, identify prospects and sources, and represent clients in the marketplace. Validate candidates through reference and source calls. Collaborate with consultants to develop and present candidate slates to clients. Provide market findings, industry trends, compensation data, and other relevant information to drive the search to closure. Prepare position specifications, candidate presentations, and reference reports following firm methodology. Maintain organized information for client updates and meetings. Monitor market and ensure accurate assignment, company, and candidate information is accessible to colleagues. Contribute to responses for new business inquiries and participate in business‑development initiatives. Share practice‑related information with colleagues and may support broader firm initiatives. Ideal Experience 4+ years of progressive experience in executive search, strategy consulting, or a related client‑service environment. Demonstrated career progression through promotion or tenure. Superior project management skills with experience handling multiple projects and competing demands. Excellent written and verbal communication, with clear, concise presentation skills. Undergraduate degree required; postgraduate degree preferred. Understanding of healthcare services is a plus. Critical Capabilities Project management: plan, prioritize, and deliver high‑quality results under tight deadlines. Search process mastery from kickoff to referencing, asking insightful questions, and acting proactively. Candidate development: build strong contact lists, synthesize data, and articulate fit succinctly. Credibility and influence: strong executive presence, effective communication, and relationship building with senior stakeholders. Market and candidate knowledge: stay current on executive movements, utilize firm resources, and share insights. Self‑development: seek and apply feedback, adapt behavior, and support continuous learning. Firm values: champion culture, code of conduct, and teamwork. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $100,000–$130,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus program.
