Position Overview Senior Product Compliance Engineer – responsible for providing compliance leadership and project management to ensure EMC, safety, and RF compliance throughout product development and the lifecycle. The role reports to the Director, Quality & Regulatory and requires onsite work in San Diego. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Partner with Engineering and Operations to deliver best‑in‑class products. Interpret regulatory/product compliance requirements and provide input on product additive changes to NPD, Sales/Product Management, and Factory. Monitor and analyze regulatory changes for the U.S., Canada, and EU that impact EMC and RF (e.g., FCC) and support safety (e.g., IEC, UL, CSA). Develop and implement project plans, engage stakeholders, and manage milestones, gating items, priorities, and deadlines. Coordinate EMC and safety evaluations with Factory, Engineering, and third‑party testing partners to ensure regulatory and industry standards compliance. Identify compliance risks, communicate threats, and suggest mitigation strategies. Obtain and maintain product regulatory certifications for commercialization by collaborating with factory and stakeholders. Provide compliance direction and lead regulatory input during the product design process. Determine general approach and specific solutions to compliance problems and recommend process improvements. Plan and support third‑party audits and internal audits as needed. Engage with NRTLs to drive compliance programs. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience with design, testing, and compliance management for EMC, Safety, and RF requirements. Experience communicating and working with certification bodies and test labs. Understanding of Engineering and Operations issues related to product compliance. Ability to explain and document regulatory and standards requirements and constructively critique product documentation. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with Engineering and Operations staff at various levels. Project management certification (e.g., PMI PMP) is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, technically challenging environment with a strong drive for success. Physical Requirements Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds. Location & Travel Onsite in San Diego, California. Travel Domestic travel up to 10%. Job Type Full‑time/Exempt. Compensation Base Salary: $102,000 – $130,000. In addition to base compensation, you will be eligible for stock options, a discretionary annual bonus, no‑cost health insurance plans, a 401(k) with company match, and flexible paid time off.
