Tax Manager [Commercial Services Group]

Position Tax Manager – Parsippany office. This hybrid position requires team members to be in office an average of 3 days per week. The role supports our CHAMP Industry Group, serving clients in the Consumer, Hospitality, and Manufacturing & Distribution sectors. Responsibilities Manage tax compliance and tax advisory engagements in the Commercial Services Industry group. Determine resource requirements and work with a team to ensure exceptional client service. Manage expectations with team members and monitor engagement progress. Review partnership and corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness. Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance. Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance. Draft tax technical memorandums and share knowledge to develop team members. Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements. Actively participate in proposal development, at the direction of management, and take a lead role responding to requests for proposal. Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking while leading by example. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred. CPA, JD or EA required. Minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience. 2+ years of managerial experience. Current experience with commercial services clients. Strong tax research skills. Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client service skills. Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including ProSystem, CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement. Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi‑task.
