Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Up to 26 weeks available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit during night shift hours
• Manage a patient population including diagnoses such as pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
• Maintain a night shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Float as needed to like Medical Surgical departments within the facility
• Fulfill every-other-weekend scheduling requirement
• Complete non-billable orientation modules as required; modules are self-reported and completed annually

Required Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical experience required
• Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Supervisor-level references required at time of submission
• Proof of flu vaccination required with submission; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
• Locals are welcome and accepted; note that a local rate may apply for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility — see applicable rate details with your recruiter

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for complex medical patients including sepsis, DKA, and heart failure
• Comfort with floating to like Medical Surgical units as needed
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
