Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Our client, a growing healthcare organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and month‑end close activities. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards Support preparation of financial statements, budgets, and audit schedules Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances as needed Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions Partner cross‑functionally with internal departments to support financial operations and reporting needs Support annual audit processes and provide documentation to external auditors Help identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with month‑end close and reconciliations Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP platforms Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting audits and compliance reporting Knowledge of fund accounting or healthcare-related financial reporting Benefits Salary range provided by law where required; discretionary bonuses available Medical, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) retirement plan EEO Notice Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by federal, state or local law.
