Job Details Job Location: Alice, TX 78333 Position Type: Temp-to-Hire Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.00 hourly Job Shift: Day We are seeking a skilled and safety‑conscious Backhoe Operator to join our construction team. The Backhoe Operator will be responsible for operating a backhoe to perform excavation, trenching, grading, material handling, and general construction support activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working around underground utilities, reading site plans, and maintaining equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Location: Alice, TX Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Responsibilities Operate a backhoe safely and efficiently on construction sites. Excavate trenches for utilities, drainage systems, and foundations. Load, move, and stockpile dirt, gravel, and other construction materials. Perform grading and site preparation work as directed. Work around underground utilities while maintaining safe digging practices. Assist with installing culverts, water lines, sewer lines, and drainage systems. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site requirements. Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required. Communicate effectively with supervisors, laborers, and other equipment operators. Qualifications Previous backhoe operating experience required. Construction, utility, excavation, or public works experience preferred. Ability to safely excavate around underground utilities. Knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures. Ability to read grade stakes, blueprints, or site plans preferred. Valid driver's license required. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
