MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

1. Sets up and operate injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials. Responsible of maintenance of injection processes to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. Ability to properly handle material, molded products and related inventory control. Must have experience and knowledge of proper operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment. 

KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

1. Maintain a safe work environment following Company’s safety, ISO standards 
2. Achieve adequate production levels while maintaining the expected product quality 
3. Install dies on machine according to work order specifications
4. Assisting in modification of existing procedures
5. Creation of new standardized work procedures.
6. Utilizing and understanding all applicable subcomponents of the production order packet.
7. Responsible for molding machine setup including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process
8. Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results
9. Performs all the function and responsibilities of a material handler
10. Performs mold changes
11. Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines
12. Insert changes to molds
13. Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times
14. Set up End of Arm tooling for robotic part removal and trimming
15. Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes
16. Address unacceptable reject levels
17. Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner
18. Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling
19. Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts
20. Responsible for the continuous operation of production equipment
21. Response for backup in the absence of the Supervisor
22. Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives.
23. Ensure molded components meet all product quality criteria including dimensional criteria 
24. Communicate to Supervisor and other technicians and document all technical information and issues 
25. Participate in reducing the rate of scrap, and down time. 
26. Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.

SKILLS NEEDED

1. High School Diploma or equivalent or equivalent of a minimum of 5 years’ experience in injection molding setup and processing.
2. Ideal candidate has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures with mold making.
3. Experience working in fast pace, high change environment with limited supervision; a self-starter.
4. Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills.
5. Possess leadership skills and ability to be led in a manner that is healthy to our positive and productive work environment. 
6. Emphasizes personal and professional growth. Keeps knowledge and skills current.
7. Must rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks.
8. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and able to read and write in English
9. Be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
10. Be able to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude daily and under deadlines.
11. Authorized to work in the US. Fluency in a other foreign languages is a plus.
12. Be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 50lbs, reading, nimbleness of hands for typing and writing.
13. Candidate MUST pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
