Phlebotomist

Job Summary As our Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in determining patient diagnoses and treatment by expertly performing blood collection and specimen processing, ensuring the highest level of patient care. Responsibilities Expertly obtain and process blood specimens via capillary or venipuncture, ensuring integrity, proper disposal, and timely distribution to testing areas with special instructions. Perform clerical duties, prioritize patient comfort, and maintain timely lab collection turnaround times. Practices positive patient identification at all times. Practices kindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions, establishing and maintaining good intra-departmental and interdepartmental communication. Comply with isolation and hand sanitization procedures. Follow blood collection procedures and perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups of inpatient and outpatient populations, using appropriate techniques to obtain quality samples and adhere to volume requirements. Perform Blood Bank collections, following written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures, demonstrating accuracy and good penmanship, and adhering to specimen requirements. Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage rooms. Required Qualifications High School Graduate or GED. Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days. Preferred Qualifications 3 months phlebotomy experience in an acute care facility. Phlebotomy Technician certification. Pay Range $16.06 - $22.69 /hour #J-18808-Ljbffr CHI
