Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3×12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend | Rotating Holidays

Pay Rate: $55 - $60/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and support for acute-care patients.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

• Current Massachusetts RN license.

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN experience.

• Travel nursing experience required.

• BLS certification required.

• Successful completion of Medical/Surgical IV Medication Module and Basic Arrhythmia exam.

• Demonstrated IV experience and ability to perform own phlebotomy.

• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac medications.

• Ability to provide age-appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process.

• Care for Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms and patient condition.

• Administer medications safely and assess patient responses, including cardiac medications.

• Manage patients receiving IV therapy and epidural analgesia.

• Perform IV starts and phlebotomy as required.

• Manage patients with chest drainage systems and provide post-operative and orthopedic care.

• Assess and manage patient pain using appropriate interventions.

• Provide care for terminally ill patients and support patients and families.

• Provide patient and family education.

• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation.

• Respond appropriately to emergency and urgent situations.

• Follow hospital, department, and professional nursing standards.

• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and registrations.

• Demonstrate effective time management, teamwork, and professional customer service.

• Float between appropriate hospital locations as needed.
