Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, we thrive on building communities, building teams, building leaders, and growing the business throughout the Southeast region with offices in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama.Core ResponsibilitiesLayout and Assembly Read and interpret shop drawings to determine material requirements and assembly procedures.Lay out and assemble structural steel, stairs, and railings according to specifications and engineering instructions.Verify alignment, dimensions, and fit before assemblies move to welding.Fabrication and Preparation Use tools and equipment to measure, cut, bend, and form metal parts.Prepare components for welding, ensuring accuracy and quality.Address and correct deficiencies during layout or assembly.Collaboration and Workflow Support Work closely with welders and the shop foreman to coordinate schedules and priorities.Support welding operations by delivering properly prepared and assembled components.Quality and Safety Conduct quality control checks to confirm assemblies meet required tolerances.Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment in compliance with company and industry standards.Preferred QualificationsProven experience as a Shop Fitter with skills in reading shop drawings and assembling structural steel, stairs, and railings.Strong knowledge of layout techniques and fabrication processes.Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork skills.High school diploma or equivalent; certification in metal fabrication or related field preferred.Core CompetenciesRNGD Values Alignment Exemplifies RNGD's core values: Renegade Mentality, Sweep Floors, Build Together, Honor Promises.Technical Precision Reads and interprets shop drawings with accuracy.Applies advanced layout and fabrication techniques.Maintains high standards for measurement, alignment, and fit.Team Oriented Collaborates effectively with welders, foremen, and shop staff.Communicates clearly to ensure tasks are aligned and efficient.Supports team efforts to meet project timelines.Detail Oriented Identifies and corrects errors early in layout or assembly.Takes pride in delivering precise, accurate work.Problem Solving Anticipates potential fabrication or fit issues.Provides practical solutions to keep projects on track.Safety-Minded Adheres to all company and industry safety protocols.Promotes safe practices in material handling and equipment use.Maintains a hazard-free workspace.RNGD is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
