Location: Brea CA (Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift (8 Hours)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Product / Project Engineer to support the development and manufacturing of engineered plastic components in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for product development, tooling support, manufacturing process improvement, and cross-functional project coordination from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Support product design, development, and manufacturing activities.
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, tooling, and program teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Support injection molding process development and tooling qualification activities.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and product-related issues.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, quality standards, and manufacturability objectives.
- Manage engineering projects, timelines, and technical deliverables.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of engineering experience in product development and manufacturing environments.
- Experience with injection molded plastic components and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar 3D CAD software.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tooling, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Qualifications
- Aerospace or aviation industry experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with thermoplastic materials, tooling development, and mold flow analysis.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
