Activities Director – Skilled Nursing Facility Location: New Jersey Employment Type: Full-Time Join Our Team! We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activities Director to lead our Recreation Department at a skilled nursing facility in New Jersey. Responsibilities Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program. Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal activities for residents. Ensure activities meet residents' physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cognitive needs. Complete resident assessments and individualized care plans related to activities. Supervise, train and schedule Activities Department staff and volunteers. Organize special events, holiday celebrations, entertainment and community outings. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including New Jersey Department of Health requirements. Develop and manage the department budget and activity supplies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident care. Encourage family and community involvement in facility programs. Maintain accurate documentation and departmental records. Qualifications Certified Activity Director (ADC or ACC) preferred or eligibility in accordance with state and federal regulations. Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long‑term care setting preferred. Knowledge of CMS regulations, resident rights, and person‑centered care. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to inspire staff and create meaningful resident experiences. Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office is a plus.
