Mechanical Technician

Position Summary The Mechanical Technician II works with a variety of tools and machinery to make or repair parts, components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems. The ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents is a critical part of the position. Key Job Responsibilities Use tools to make or repair parts, components, assemblies, and systems Install mechanical and electrical parts and hardware in housings or assemblies Interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions Collaborate effectively with other team members to meet production goals. Keep a clean and organized workstation Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise Key Competencies & Skills High level of focus, precision, and attention to detail Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently with little supervision Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively Ability to adhere to TARGAN and industry best practice safety requirements Possess excellent communication skills Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors Understanding of pneumatic components preferred Understanding of electrical schematics preferred Education And Experience Requirements 5+ years’ experience as a Technician or similar role required High school diploma and related training preferred Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret charts and graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving known and unknown variables in existing and new situations. Working Conditions The employee is required to stand and/or sit while performing repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
