This role is a tangible product marketing role, not an IT related product role. The position will manage new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions for Wilsonart TFL products. Through thoroughly understanding the marketplace, this position will develop and implement specific product management plans (annual and long term) to maximize returns for this portfolio. The Sr. Product Manager will be accountable for assessing the products and product features needed in the market and the marketing planning for and placement of products launched into the market. Forecasting material demand.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functionsDevelop and implement specific product management plans (annual and long term) to maximize returns from this portfolioAccountable for accessing the products and product features needed in the marketMarketing planning for and placement of products launched into the marketDetermines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies.Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.Works directly with operations driving efficient use of TFL assets and collaborates with purchasing to ensure certainty of supply.Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong knowledge of TFL, board/panels, and/or decorative surfacesAbility to perform competitive analysis and marketing researchExcellent math and finance skillsKnowledge of marketing methodologiesTechnical product knowledgeComputer proficiency including the application of spreadsheets and databasesExcellent written and verbal communication skills; at ease with all levels within the company and with customersCompelling public speaking skillsAbility to develop collaborative relations across departments and levels of the organizationAbility to lead and execute the new product introduction processExperience leading cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, design, sales, and marketingPrior experience leading and executing large, complex product management projectsPrior experience partnering with internal and external clientsDemonstrated ability to influence outcomes, including management-prior successful integration with sales team membersMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related fieldMinimum 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Sale or Marketing.
