Job Summary

The Receiver will be responsible for receiving all incoming shipments in the grocery department and ensuring merchandise is not defected or damaged. Receives all vendors, accounts for inventory and compares to invoices, operates machinery, maintains order and cleanliness in the receiving area.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prepare receiving dock to accept incoming merchandise, match product with purchasing orders, verify received product expiration dates,
• Assure all vendors have company identification, Review invoices ensuring information is correct, operate baler, compactor, and forklift.
• Investigate and resolve situations where items received are not properly documented in the daily receipt log.
• Cooperate with representatives from other departments to provide information as requested.
• Safely utilize forklifts and power jacks to move warehouse materials.
• Ability to calculate mathematical values.
• Must have a working knowledge of Internet software usage, order processing systems, inventory software and word processing software.
• Follow the receiving process by:
• Scanning items.
• Review invoices.
• Scan invoices.
• Put the PDF files at S-Data.
• Organize credits: DSD vendors and AWG
• Organize Warehouse.
• Organize pallets.
• Clean up outside of receiving area.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Minimum one year experience in receiving;
• Grocery retail background preferred;
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use the hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Successful performance requires vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
• Able to drive and flexible to travel to all company locations as required.
• LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work schedules are variables depending on the needs of price changes the schedules will be variable working from midnight.
