- # Histology Technician - Per DiemApply: EVH Evanston Hospital: Part time: Posted Today: R47814**Hourly Pay Range:**$29.03 - $43.55 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.**Position Highlights:*** Position: Histology Technician - Per Diem* Location: Evanston Hospital* Status: Per Diem* Hours: Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays**What you will do:*** Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor* Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder* Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded* Recuts of tissue blocks* Special Stains* IF cryotomy of skin specimens **What you will need:*** Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.* Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.* Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred* Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.**Benefits (For full time or part time positions):*** Premium pay such as shift, on call, holiday and more based on an employee’s job (For eligible positions)* Incentive pay for select positions* Opportunity for annual increases based on performance* Career Pathways to Promote Professional Growth and Development* Various Medical, Dental, Pet and Vision options* Tuition Reimbursement* Free Parking* Wellness Program Savings Plan* Health Savings Account Options* Retirement Options with Company Match* Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay* Community Involvement Opportunities
