Overview Position: Compliance - Patient Services Staff Primary location: Burnet Campus. Schedule: Full time. Shift: Rotating (United States of America). Department: OR. Employee Status: Regular. FTE: 1. Weekly Hours: 40. Responsibilities Compliance - Patient Services Staff: Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain regulatory compliance of the department and hospital. Monitor safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Be mindful of CCHMCs processes and CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members. Uses systems thinking: See the pieces or components; see patient and family within the unit; view self as a key resource to support the family through the healthcare experience via care coordination. Maintain regulatory compliance understanding and support leadership in compliance efforts. Monitor and comply with safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled promptly. Be mindful of CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members. Clinical judgment when performing caring practices: Collect clinical data; follow algorithms, decision trees, and protocols. Document plan of care, care delivered, and patient and family outcomes. Focus on patient and family needs; anticipate future needs; base care on standards and protocols; maintain a safe environment; acknowledge death as a potential outcome. Integrate age-specific concepts, considering chronological age and developmental functioning. Develop care goals and actions with patients and families; facilitate patient and family learning using structured education and teach-back to evaluate effectiveness. Clinical inquiry & performance review to improve practice: Follow standards and guidelines; implement clinical changes and research-based practices; seek further learning when needed. Recognize changing patient situations; use self-appraisal and peer review to promote safe, ethical practice. Facilitate peer and student learning experiences and collaborate with department leaders to identify and share safety best practices. Collaborates with team using shared decision making: Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and unit-based councils; contribute to shared governance by reading minutes, giving feedback, and implementing council decisions. Interprofessional Practice: Demonstrate integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) in all aspects of practice. Advocacy, moral agency and inclusion: Act on behalf of patients and families; assess values; recognize and address ethical conflicts; uphold patient rights; assess cultural inclusion and incorporate culturally inclusive concepts into care. Patient Care - Age Specific and Culturally Inclusive: Consistently integrate age-specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care, considering both chronological age and developmental functioning. Qualifications Associate/Diploma prepared RN from an ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution with 2+ years of experience. If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire date and complete within 5 years. Preferred: BSN from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution or MSN. Active Ohio RN License. May be required to obtain other state licensure. Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates. Pay and Benefits Expected Starting Pay Range: $34.00 - $41.40 per hour (annualized pay may vary based on FTE status).
