Staff Accountant

Job Description We are a locally owned accounting and tax firm in Natchitoches, Louisiana, with a current team of eight. Our firm is well established and has served individuals and small businesses for more than 50 years. At the beginning of 2025, the firm transitioned to new ownership under two long-time employees with a vision for growth, modernization, and continued client-focused service. It has been an exciting season of updates and positive change, and our team is growing. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in the success of our accounting team by preparing assigned bookkeeping and accounting work using client provided information and firm procedures. This position is focused on the preparation of routine monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting work. Tasks and Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and thorough general ledger accounts by recording financial transactions for multiple small businesses Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data Review and categorize transactions for proper accounting treatment Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, receipts, and expense reports to gather necessary data for tax filings Support period-end closing procedures Communicate clearly and effectively to clients Maintain organized and up to date client records in business management and CRM platforms Qualifications: Comfortable using business management software and collaboration tools such as MS Outlook & Teams, Excel, TaxDome Experience in public accounting environments Excellent attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment Comfortable with structured processes High level of discretion and confidentiality #J-18808-Ljbffr Harrington & Johnson LLC
