Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hours from 07:00 - 19:30, with weekend rotation and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit will provide specialized care to patients with cardiac conditions. Applicants must have cardiac PCU experience and be comfortable managing patient ratios of 1:5. This role involves monitoring and managing patients' cardiac health, utilizing telemetry, and working with various cardiac therapies including drips and BIPAP.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry.
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care.
• Manage peripheral line, PICC line, and chest tube care.
• Administer procedural sedation and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration.
• Focus on conditions such as congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias.
• Utilize rapid response teams and support interdisciplinary care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac progressive care unit.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NIH certification preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Active RN license is required at the time of submission.
• EPIC experience is required.
