Position Overview:

The GenAI Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a team of AI developers, data scientists, and engineers to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do:

Join a fast-moving AI team building the intelligence layer of Birdeye's Insights product — where customer signals get turned into decisions our customers act on. You'll report to the Director of Engineering and be a key leader shaping how AI shows up across the platform. Whether it's leading the team behind AI Insights Recommendations and AI-powered Custom Reports, partnering with Product to turn fuzzy ideas into shipped GenAI features, architecting RAG and agentic pipelines that run reliably at multi-tenant SaaS scale, or mentoring engineers and data scientists into the next generation of AI leaders at Birdeye — you'll bring your technical depth and leadership to bear on it all. From setting the technical direction for how the team builds and evaluates LLM-powered systems, to owning the roadmap end-to-end with Product, staying close enough to the code to unblock your team when it counts, and representing Insights AI in the conversations shaping Birdeye's broader AI strategy — this role sits at the center of it all. Roles & Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Agentic AI/AI/ML professionals.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
• Set clear goals and expectations, and monitor team performance.

AI Strategy

• Collaborate with senior management to define the company's AI strategy and roadmap.
• Identify opportunities for AI integration and expansion across various products & services.

Project Management

• Plan, prioritize, and oversee the execution of Agentic AI / Gen_AI / AI / ML projects from conception to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Monitor project progress and resolve issues as they arise.

Technical Expertise

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Agentic AI /Gen AI/ AI and Machine learning.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team.
• Participate in hands-on development and problem-solving when necessary.

Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and software engineers, to integrate AI solutions into software products.
• Foster collaboration and communication between AI and software development teams.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure the quality and accuracy of AI models and algorithms.
• Implement best practices for testing and validation of AI systems.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain clear and comprehensive project documentation.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management.

Resource Management

• Manage resources effectively, including budget allocation and staffing.
• Recruit, train, and develop AI team members.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred) with minimum 10 years’ experience.
• roven experience in AI development, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
• Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and programming languages (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms and deployment of AI models is a plus.
