Duration: 12- Months - position (May go Longer) Shift: M-F 7AM - 4PM 1 shift Hybrid: Required In Office: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There is a chance where they may come in Monday and Friday depending on business needs that week. Travel: Yes, 20%. In state and out of state traveling. They may have to go to a mid-west supplier. Job Responsibilities As a Future Program Execution Ergonomist, you will be responsible for the identification and resolution of ergonomic issues which will drive the reduction of injuries and manufacturing inefficiencies on next generation of vehicles. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as product design and manufacturing, as well as outside suppliers and UAW representatives. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Act as the subject matter expert in the field of ergonomics, supporting launch and pre-production manufacturing ergonomic activities for New & Major vehicle programs in Warren and our propulsion manufacturing sites across North America. Ensure manufacturing ergonomics requirements are implemented and met on all new vehicle programs. Conduct ergonomic risk analysis of new product designs and establish threshold limit values. Work collaboratively with product designers, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering and assembly plant personnel, including UAW and non-UAW. Manage all ergonomic issues to closure, lead root cause analysis efforts and coordinate follow-up through appropriate engineering and plant teams. Use 3D Virtual Digital Human Model (DHM) simulations and 3D Vehicle CAD to determine acceptable manufacturing ergonomic parameters for new vehicle product assembly. Initiate and lead ergonomics initiatives/projects to continuously improve processes, solve design problems and eliminate ergonomic issues before physical builds begin. Provide Launch Program Ergonomic issue status and updates to Future Vehicle Program and Plant leadership. Provide timely written reports and updates on all ergonomics projects to support analytics and lessons learned. Support manufacturing operations ergonomics by bringing current plant ergonomics issues to the appropriate design and manufacturing engineers for resolution in order to address similar concerns in future programs. Conduct ergonomic assessments of mini-molds, dunnage, point-of-use (POU) racks, lift-assist interaction with parts, and ergonomic platforms to ensure correct procurement. Be involved in operator layouts for the assembly line. Support implementation of IE launch deliverables and station readiness as needed. Education required: Bachelor in either Industrial or Ergonomics, Mechanical and Manufacturing. Minimum years of experience: 2 years of ergonomics or industrial experience (ideally). Especially using CAD and auto manufacturing experience. Ergonomic Risk Assessment & Analysis Candidates need to: Evaluate assembly jobs for injury risk. Analyze lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and twisting motions. Determine whether a task exceeds ergonomic limits. Use ergonomic assessment methodologies and standards. 3D CAD / Digital Human Modeling (Nice To Have) Candidates should know how to evaluate manufacturing processes in a virtual environment before physical builds occur. Manufacturing / Assembly Process Engineering The candidate needs to understand how vehicles are built.
