Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and youth focused Education Coordinator to support children and adolescents receiving services at mental health facilities. These three facilities share a single campus in Nampa, providing a unique opportunity for the Education Coordinator to deliver consistent educational support across multiple levels of care, including residential treatment, developmental disability services, and psychiatric inpatient care.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all youth on campus who are attending online school or completing after school homework have the structure, guidance, and resources necessary for academic success. The Education Coordinator works closely with facility teams, case managers, medical staff, school districts, online learning platforms, and families to support individualized learning plans and maintain continuity of education during treatment or placement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee educational support services for youth completing online schooling or afterschool homework across all three facilities.
- Establish and maintain structured daily learning routines that foster engagement and academic success.
- Provide direct tutoring, homework assistance, and academic skill building for students with varying needs.
- Communicate with school districts, teachers, and online platforms to gather updates, assignments, and academic expectations.
- Monitor and document attendance, assignment completion, academic progress, and participation.
- Develop individualized educational support strategies based on each youth’s learning style, goals, and treatment considerations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings at Birch, SWITC, and SHW to share educational updates and identify academic needs.
- Identify learning barriers and coordinate additional supports such as tutoring, accommodations, or modified instruction.
- Maintain accurate educational records, progress notes, and documentation in accordance with facility and state requirements.
- Collaborate with residential and clinical staff to ensure consistent routines that support school participation.
- Provide positive reinforcement and coaching to help youth build study habits, time management skills, and self-advocacy.
- Ensure technology and learning materials including laptops, headphones, textbooks, and supplies are available and functional.
- Assist with school enrollment, scheduling, and transitions between programs, including return to public school or alternative placements.
- Support youth in preparing for quizzes, projects, and assessments.
Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following:
1. Professional Licensure
Licensed by the State of Idaho in Social Work under Title 54, Chapter 32
2. Bachelor’s Degree
Bachelor’s degree in education, behavioral science, social science, or a related field AND
At least one (1) year of full-time experience working with children in an academic, residential, or social services setting
3. Experience
At least five (5) years of full-time work experience supporting children in an educational, residential, developmental disability, or social
