The Supervisor can be based out of any of our U.S. office locations (New York, NY; Buffalo, NY; Rochester, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; Braintree, MA; Burlington, MA; Princeton, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Providence, RI; Columbia, MD; Tysons Corner, VA; Nashville, TN; Boca Raton, FL; Orlando, FL; San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Orange County, CA; San Francisco, CA; San Ramon, CA; Portland; Seattle, WA). The in-office expectation is a hybrid schedule (3 days in office expectation per week). As a Cost Segregation Supervisor, you will report directly to the leader of the Cost Segregation practice and play a key role in managing engagements, developing team members, and delivering exceptional client service. You will work alongside an integrated team of seasoned professionals and industry leaders, overseeing all phases of cost segregation studies while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to staff.Our Cost Segregation team helps clients maximize tax savings opportunities through engineering-based analyses of commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use real estate assets. But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How you'll spend your time:Managing multiple cost segregation engagements from planning through final deliverySupervising, reviewing, and mentoring associates and senior associates to ensure quality and accuracy of work productConducting and overseeing property site inspections to document building components and support IRS-compliant classificationsReviewing construction cost documentation, general ledgers, contractor payment applications, and other financial recordsAnalyzing blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications to support asset classifications and cost allocationsPreparing and reviewing engineering-based cost segregation reports and supporting schedulesCollaborating with tax, valuation, and real estate professionals to provide integrated client solutionsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive serviceManaging engagement budgets, timelines, and client expectations to ensure successful project completionAssisting with practice development initiatives, proposal development, and identifying opportunities for additional servicesThe kind of people we want to talk to have many of the following:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of experience in cost segregation, construction estimating, engineering, real estate valuation, or a related fieldPursuit of CPA, EA, CCSP, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.Strong knowledge of IRS cost segregation guidance, tax depreciation methodologies, and relevant tax authoritiesAdvanced understanding of construction methods, building systems, and asset classification principlesExperience reviewing and supervising engagement teams and managing multiple concurrent projectsKnowledge of real estate appraisals, valuations, and property cost allocation methodologiesStrong proficiency with RS Means, Marshall & Swift, Planswift, or similar estimating softwareExcellent analytical, project management, and organizational skillsStrong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholdersProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelAbility to travel approximately 25% of the yearThe compensation for this position ranges from $100,000-$130,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
