Center City PCS the After Care Instructor will implement an enriching extended learning program that fully supports the academic achievement of students school day lessons. They will ensure the program targets various learning modalities and needs of Center City's students, is fun, safe and engaging for all students.

Essential Duties

Planning/coordination:

• Support campus staff responsible for implementing tutoring sessions and middle school clubs.
• Manage students, complete and submit required reports to Director.

Culture and Climate:

• Develop and implement discipline and incentive systems that hold student's accountable for their actions.
• Collaborate with campus leadership to ensure school day protocols, procedures and routines are consistent with the extended learning programming.
• Set clear program rules and expectations and hold stakeholders accountable to them.
• Create a caring and rigorous environment that actively demonstrates the staff's belief in ALL students' ability to achieve.

Program Development and Implementation:

Homework Time for Students

• Ensure that all students receive at least 30-45 minutes of homework support daily.
• Develop a system to communicate to parents about homework completion daily.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, some college or at least two years of coursework in education and/or child and adolescent development strongly preferred.
• Experience working with urban youth in a classroom, child-care, camp or after-school setting.
• The ability to demonstrate positive classroom management skills.
• Natural ability to connect, communicate and develop supportive relationships with youth and their families.
• High energy, dynamic, positive personality and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word & Excel.

Work Hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
