Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department professional in Puyallup, WA. This position involves managing acute obstetric patient care in a Level III Trauma Center with a focus on antepartum, labor, postpartum, and neonatal care. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes across a variety of clinical scenarios.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, fetal monitoring credentials (AWHONN or Relias module). At least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Strong lactation and couplet care experience, proficiency with IV pumps, medication dispensing via Pyxis, and familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC Stork, GE Centricity).
• Additional Information: The unit primarily handles antepartum, labor, and postpartum patient care, including high-risk deliveries and neonatal monitoring. Experience with cervical exams, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IV therapy, Pitocin, and postpartum mother-baby care is required. The unit follows AWHONN and NANN guidelines for patient ratios, and the candidate will work within a supportive environment that includes neonatal intensive care for babies 32 weeks and less, and high-risk obstetric interventions. Orientation includes annual core competencies, medication exams, and unit-specific training. The schedule is created in 3-week cycles, with rotating night shifts every other week, and no on-call responsibilities.
