Coding Compliance Consultant
Required Skills & Experience - Active AAPC or AHIMA credential
5-6 years of experience in quality reviews, coding reviews, claims reviews, and/or medical record coding
Recent hands-on coding experience is important, either performing coding or reviewing coded medical records
Compliance experience is strongly preferred, as is experience performing quality reviews for coders
Experience with medical record systems is required, and Epic is preferred

Job Description
The Coding Compliance Consultant serves as a subject matter expert on coding compliance, auditing, and regulatory requirements. This role conducts coding audits, compliance reviews, monitoring activities, and investigations to ensure adherence to coding standards, billing regulations, and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities:
- Review documents and perform quality assurance
- Prepare documents for submission to regulators
- Track document status and report on status to the PM
- Perform coding compliance audits, reviews, and monitoring activities.
- Research and interpret coding, billing, and regulatory requirements and provide guidance to stakeholders.
- Identify compliance risks, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support investigations and compliance improvement initiatives.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts to coding and billing practices.
- Partner with operational and cross-functional teams to strengthen compliance programs and mitigate risk.
- Develop recommendations and support implementation of corrective action plans.
