Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Ketchikan, Alaska.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 26 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 26 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring an active AK RN license and AWHONN Intermediate certification.Details\n \n Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting\n Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)\n Every team member works an equitable number of weekend shifts per schedule period\n Floating required 0-3 times per month within OB as helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type work\n Patient ratio of 1:2\n Requires charting system experience (any EMR)\n Requirements\n \n Active AK RN license required (pending license accepted)\n Minimum 2 years of experience required, with L&D or LDRP experience preferred\n Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP\n AWHONN Advanced certification preferred\n Fetal monitoring certification through AWHONN, Relias, or Gnosis accepted for EFM competency\n Skilled in labor and delivery management, including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response\n Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips\n Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessment\n Experience with antepartum care procedures including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage\n Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration\n Epic experience preferred (1 year)\n Royal blue scrub color required\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards\n Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs while documenting according to established standards\n Direct and delegate care to other team members based on education, credentials, and demonstrated competence\n Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including patients and families\n Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain hospital policies and procedures\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Local candidates are not accepted within a 60-mile radius of the facility\n Candidates must be willing to float within the health system as operationally necessary\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-740468.
