Application Architect

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Atlanta, GA, Chandler, AZ or Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities for application infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, resiliency, and scalability of the web infrastructure, with a focus on applications hosted in external clouds like Azure and AWS. This position involves cross-functional collaboration to provide and communicate complex technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities
• Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities
• Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system
• Provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors
• Responsible for the application infrastructure architecture must have high availability, Load balance, resiliency, scalability of web infrastructure to meet corporate LOB objectives
• Identify technical requirements for new projects like Hardware requirements, server's operating system, Authentication and Authorization security, IIS configurations, Firewall connectivity, Load Balancer settings, DNS registrations, security severity, application dependencies, databases, scheduled jobs, and content replication
• Address production issues and troubleshoot applications incidents of any Priority1 / Priority2 and Priority3 incidents
• Manage team, assign and review the project's design, requirements, workflow, and documents with the team and working closely with multiple teams for implementation
• Create design documents, technical documents, deployment documents and share with deployment and production support teams
• Identify risk associated with LOB applications and escalation to senior management and providing solutions to mitigate risks
• Lead and actively participate in conference calls with technical and business users

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, Information Technology, or equivalent education
• 2 years in a technical position using Cloud technologies
• 3 - 5 years of experience in design and engineering solutions for large business capabilities
• Expertise in Payment and Merchant Services capabilities
• Expert experience and knowledge in design and engineering of applications hosted at external cloud such as Azure and AWS
• Effective Communication - Clear, Concise and the ability to articulate ideas
• Flexible to work in different shifts, including rotational night shift and weekend support
• Experience in Application Lifecycle Management Automation tools and integration using one or more of the following tools: Ansible by Red Hat, Jenkins or XLR
• Working knowledge/expertise with JIRA, NEXUS and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
• Exposure and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile)
• Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, able to work with little supervision and a responsible team-player
• Computer networking skills and working knowledge: Load balancer, firewall, etc.
• Experience with web application communication protocols - SOAP, XML etc.
• Knowledge of application setup, support, and configuration
• Multiple years of demonstrated experience in Systems Administration or Systems Engineering
• Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL databases
• Linux (RHEL, CentOS) experience
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux, with demonstrated hands-on experience on one or more of the following domains:
• Need Azure Core Platform: Compute, Storage, Networking
• Monitoring, alerting and logging tools, and build/release processes

Pay range: $67.29 - $75.29 per hour
