The ME/IE Manager is the site technology leader of Jabil's manufacturing processes and systems, designed to deliver superior performance and operational efficiency. The ME/IE Manager supports Operations' business development effort with current and potential customers and develops/implements both site and global ME/IE strategies. Responsible for the establishment of optional manufacturing methods and processes for the organization's production lines. Lead and motivate a large group of Engineers whose primary responsibility is to define and implement complete manufacturing processes. Provides ongoing review of the effective utilization of equipment, production methods, equipment layout, personnel, and material flow. Provides exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders. Leadership and Management Responsibilities Recruitment and Retention: Recruit, interview and hire Industrial Engineers, Process, Manufacturing and Project Engineers. Communicate criteria to recruiters, coach staff in the interviewing/hiring process, monitor turnover, identify improvement factors, and implement actions. Employee and Team Development: Identify strengths and development needs, create/validate training curriculum, coach and mentor staff, build succession plans for the engineering function. Performance Management: Establish measurable goals and objectives, solicit feedback, provide coaching and counseling, evaluate personnel, drive continuous improvement in operational metrics, coordinate team activities during crises, and manage recognition and rewards fairly. Communication: Provide a forum for idea exchange, organize clear verbal and written communication, encourage input, and adapt personal communication style to team members. Functional Management Responsibilities Business Strategy and Direction: Understand corporate, campus and global strategies, develop and implement a Process Engineering & Industrial Engineering strategy, provide updates to business leaders, and manage global technical support. Cost Management: Identify ways to reduce costs through process streamlining, elimination of non-value-added tasks, and reengineering. Monitor departmental cost trends and provide feedback to peers. Forecast Development and Accuracy: Prepare timely forecasts, compare forecast results to historical data, anticipate future headcount needs based on business requirements. Technical Management Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting, analysis and metrics management. Assess adequacy of data gathering methods used by workcells. Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient and non-redundant. Prepare quotes for new and potential customers. Forecast future requirements and technical trends to guide suppliers. Verify reconfiguration requirements and monitor line moves. Lead equipment evaluations and ensure measurement criteria meet site requirements. Explore and monitor new processes to support expanding customer requirements. Assist Project and Design Engineers with Design for Manufacturability issues. Utilize Jabil's Advanced Engineering group for support. Establish new measurement systems where possible. Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement; implement best‑in‑field practices. Promote the concept of an Integration Engineer to ensure smooth, high‑quality processes. Demonstrate commitment to customer service; prioritize problem solving and exceed expectations. Perform hands‑on troubleshooting during product launch and foster a back‑to‑basics mentality. Ensure 100% adherence to company policies and procedures (Health and Safety, Quality). Handle sensitive information appropriately and comply with security policies. Drive Lean Manufacturing consistently across the campus. Minimum Requirements: Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering philosophies and processes. Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management. Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3‑5 years of related experience in the electronics manufacturing industry; 2‑3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
