Job Description
Title
Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU

Schedule
- Hours: Clinician can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Assignment Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes - 3 shifts guaranteed per contract

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a neuro setting
- Required: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSS
- Preferred: TNCC, BSN

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Neuro ICU, including those with neurotrauma, strokes (post-thrombectomy/post-tPA), CNS infections, and spinal cord injuries.
- Monitor critical patients with advanced neurological conditions using EVD/ICP monitoring and manage vasoactive infusions.
- Administer and manage ventilator care, sedation, and ensure safety protocols for hypothermia/hyperthermia therapy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members such as PT, RT, pharmacy, and social work to provide holistic patient care.
- Conduct dysrhythmia recognition and management while maintaining accurate patient documentation.

Compliance / Notes
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO allowed first week; no new RTO after submission.
- Fit testing: No facial hair that interferes with fit testing (must shave if necessary).
- Scrub color: Navy blue.
- Parking: Monthly passes available; fees vary, and night-shift parking may be free.
